If you could nail this in 45 seconds pitch during your interview, then it is most likely you will get the job unless you messed-up with the succeeding questions. This is not a cybersecurity-related topic but as a security professional who will be looking for a change either challenge or salary then you are covered.

I would never forget when “Sam Witwicky” was interviewed by the company president during his job-hunting days in “Transformer” movie and the question was, “Impress me…”.

This is very much relevant to the title of the article as the latter gives the candidate a hint on how they should answer the question to close the deal with a smile. Should you brag about your certifications with expiration dates coming soon, working overtime and accomplishing nothing, attending company sponsored international conferences but not conducting knowledge transfer to your teammates; that is a simple homework that most folks overlooked to address.

In my humble opinion, instead; the applicant should focus on how he/she could make a difference if gets hired and what are the valuable solutions that they may contribute to the organization. Whether it is technical or not, then it should be an “x” factor.
